You were still dealing with the idea of all that happened to you, and the fact that you were now a cat while England was carrying you back to your room, remaining silent with a thoughtful look on his face.
He finally reached your room and opened the door, he placed you gently on the bed and told you to stay there as he left, heading down the stairs towards the kitchen. He was going to get the first aid kit, and he also needed a moment to think to himself.
"Alright Arthur, you have somehow managed to turn _____ into a cat, and you may have caused her serious harm in the process, not to mention you have no idea how to reverse it. Great job you bloody idiot, you have probably just ruined her life
But no, I am not going to think about that right now, I need to focus on making sure she is alright, and then I need to worry about finding a spell to reverse this one, even though it is incomplete.."
Arthur sighed and grabbed the first aid kit from the kitchen, looking around and thinking about the fact that you would probably be hungry, and wan something to eat. He would have to come make you something after he finished checking you over.
He went back upstairs and smiled at you as he walked back into your room and set the first aid kit down beside you, glad to see that you had remained where you were told.
"Okay _____, I need to check to make sure nothing was broken when you hit the wall, let me know if anything hurts, don't try to be strong and ignore it, alright?"
You nodded and shifted a little bit before you closed your eyes and took a deep breath, letting yourself relax.
England felt awkward about touching you to check for broken bones, he was a gentleman after all, and if you had been a human he would never have touched you so freely in those places without your consent, or without suffering some sort of nosebleed along the way. Besides, he knew you, broken bones or not you would have slapped him for touching you in many of those places, but it was different with you being a cat, as your anatomy had changed a good deal.
Still, Arthur blushed when he touched where your breasts would have been, and when he ran his hands softly down each of your legs, before at last he was satisfied that you had not received any broken bones and he rose to his feet, his face beet red.
You got up so you were sitting on your haunches as you looked over at England, about to ask him a question when something occurred to you, and it was not a good thing
"Crap! The meeting is this afternoon!"
He had forgotten all about it while he was worrying about you, how could he explain this to the other countries?
You groaned and looked up at England, uncertainty in your eyes as you worried about how you would explain all of this to everyone.
"How can I go like this?"
England looked down at you and gave what he hoped was a reassuring smile, but inside he was just as worried as you were, maybe even more worried if that was even possible, chances were that it wasn't, but still. He had no idea how he would help you, or explain all of this without people thinking he was either mad, or wanting to kill him, almost everyone adored you, even Belarus was, well, she was not nice to you, nor did she act like she liked you, but she was not mean to you like she was to almost everyone else, and you were one of the few girls she would let be around Russia without threatening to kill you. Your soft whimper broke through his thoughts and he looked down at you, stopping his thoughts of concern for himself and changing them to thoughts of concern for you, thinking now about how it would affect you and your life.
"Hey, if anyone says anything, I'll beat the bloody bastards to a pulp, so don't worry."
You could not help but smile a tiny faint smile as England fell back to his pirate ways for a moment before he returned to his normal gentlemanly self, looking embarrassed about his outburst.
"Thank you Arthur, I am probably just worrying too much, it will be alright. I hope at least."
"Hope is good, we all need hope. Besides, chances are they will be too busy yelling about the things they are always yelling about to even notice. Hell, they would not notice if you came in there naked, with your hair on fire."
You laughed and shook your head, purring softly as you thought about how silly that would look. And how true that statement probably was.
"You are probably right, as sad as that is to say
~~~Time Skip of awesomeness~~~
You took a deep breath as England carried you into the conference room, trying to calm your nerves. Right now you were more nervous than the first time you had been there, right after you had become a country all those years ago.
No one was there yet of course, but you were still nervous, and it only got worse as the others started entering. Soon all of the other countries were there, and England decided to try something.
"So since everyone is here, shall we continue with the meeting?"
For a moment it seemed as if was going to work, but suddenly America looked around and shook his head, jumping up on the table.
"Dude wait! We can't start the meeting yet!"
All of the countries that had started to bicker looked at America like he had finally lost it, some of them simply shaking their heads sadly.
"We can't start the meeting until _____, is here!"
England sighed and looked over at America for a moment before rising to his feet.
"America, please get down from the table, _____ is here, she is sitting right in front of me."
Some of the countries gave England the same look they had given America, and others laughed about it.
"Dude, it's great you got a cat and named it after _____, but we need her, not a c---Wait..This is all some sort of joke isn't it?? She is gonna jump out at us or something isn't she??! That is why you brought the cat to mess with our heads! But ha! I caught you, I'm the hero! You can't prank me! Never!"
You sighed softly and shook your head faintly before looking up at America.
"No America, this really is me, something happened, and now I am like this
England nodded and took a deep breath, and then explained the who thing, America never did get off of the table as his older brother spoke, he just stared, but that changed as soon as England finished speaking.
He yelled and tackled England to the ground, glaring down at him.
"GOD DAMN YOU, YOU FUCKING BASTARD! HOW COULD YOU BE SO CARELESS AND DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO _____?!?!"
Everyone was shocked by America's actions, and Russia got up and pulled America off of England, having to wrap his arms around him from behind to keep him from attacking the Brit again.
"Calm down da?"
America was fuming but gave a tight nod, he did not attack England again but he continued to glare at him.
You let out a sigh of relief you had been afraid a fight would break out between the two of them. You had just settled back down when the next thing you knew Alfred had picked you up off of the table and then went back to sit down. He sat down with you in his lap and started stroking your ears, a light blush on his cheeks.
I could not believe it at first, or maybe, I just did not want to. The idea that Arthur had done such a thing to _____. My best friend. My ______. The girl
The girl I loved
Why did I ever let her stay with him??? Why didn't I know better??? I should have known better, and on top of all of that, on top of what I had put _____ through, now, I had to deal with the fact that I might never get the chance to tell her just how much I loved her
I started thinking back to the day we first met, it was such a long time ago now
_____ had been playing on a tree swing, her simple calico dress blowing lightly in the breeze, and her (h/c)(h/l) hair was pulled back in pigtails and tied with (f/c) ribbons, bouncing as she laughed. I was taken by her beauty, I had never felt that way about a girl, or thought about one like that either, I almost did not notice as the group of older boys showed up.
They started teasing her and pulling on her hair and dress, one of them pushed her off of the tree swing and shoved her to the ground, laughing when she started to cry.
That was the moment I decided I would be a hero, I would become America, I would be _____'s hero.
I ran over to them and yelled at the boys to pick on someone their own size, they attacked me but were not prepared for how strong I was. I was a nation, I was America, I could not be beaten by them. I beat the first two boys up, I took quite a few punches in the process, but I gave out more, and the little bit of pain I felt was nothing, because the boys left _____ alone after that.
She was still crying, and had gone over to hide behind a tree, she back away from me at first and stumbled backwards, falling on her bottom. I smiled and knelt in front of her, offering her my hand. Even if I had been raised by a pirate, he still had manners, and he did raise me well.
She took my hand and let me pull her up into a sitting position and she managed a small smile for me, wiping her eyes.
I rose to my feet and helped her stand up, but she winced when she stood on her right leg. Her knee was scrapped pretty badly, and blood trickled down from it. I crouched down in front of her and grinned.
"Come on, I'll carry you."
She had looked slightly startled, but had eventually nodded and allowed me to carry her. I took her to her home and I asked her where her family was. She had just looked down at the ground and shook her head.
"I don't have anyone, they all left me, I have been taking care of myself. I am all alone."
I did not know what to say, I set her down on a chair, and then knelt down in front of her, looking her in the eye.
"You have someone now, I will never leave you, I will stay here and take care of you. You will not have to be alone again."
Her eyes had filled with tears and I was afraid I had said something wrong, but then she flung her arms around my neck and kissed my cheek.
We had been friends since that day, and over all of the years I had known her my feelings for her had grown, and changed, and now
I touched my cheek where she had kissed me and smiled, I had loved the feeling, I wanted to feel her lips on my skin once again.
The meeting ended and America still looked deep in thought, you smiled and gently licked his cheek, making him jump slightly.
You smiled at him and laughed softly, the laugh coming out almost like a purr.
"The meeting is over, and almost everyone has left. I have never seen you sit so quietly through a meeting, is something wrong?"
America smiled and shook his head, holding you a little closer and stroking your head.
"No, of course not! I'm the hero! There is never anything wrong with the hero!"
This comment caused you to laugh again, and as soon as you did, England felt like a knife had been stabbed through his heart.
America made you happy, he saved you, he never hurt you, you laughed all the time around him, and enjoyed his company, he did not make you cry.
England sighed and got up before he walked over to his younger brother and tapped him on the shoulder lightly, wanting to get his attention.
"America? Could you take care of _____ while I am trying to find the reversal spell? I do not want to risk her walking in while I am in the middle of one, and having her become harmed."
America grinned like an idiot and pumped his fist up in the air happily.
"Yeah! Dude! This'll be awesome! I might finally be able to beat _____ at video games!!"
You scoffed and playfully slapped America upside the head with your tail and shook your head cat or not, you would still beat him.
"You wish. I'll still kick your ass at video games just like I always do and you know it!"
"As if cat woman! You don't even have thumbs! You won't be able to beat me now! I will win for sure!"
You laughed and playfully sprung at Alfred, pretending to attack him, to which he played right back along with you and soon you were both rolling on the floor, laughing your heads off as you tickled the other.
England felt another knife in his heart as he watched you both, feeling saddened by the sight, but also glad that you seemed happy, and for the time being did not have to face what he had done to you.
I watched them playing together and I felt like my heart had been ripped from my chest and cast into a pit of coals, are onto an open flame as I realized how easily my brother brought her happiness and joy, while all I had done was cause her suffering.
How could I claim to love her if I could not make her happy? All I was good at was ruining things for her, and she had never even gotten mad at me, or acted like she was upset at me for what I had done.
I thought back to her last birthday, I had planned to tell her that I loved her, but on my way over to her I bumped into the table and sent the punch bowl into her lap, and then to make it worse, when I went over to help her after she had stood up and turned to grab a stack of napkins from the table behind her I had managed to trip her and she fell into the cake, becoming covered with it.
She had looked ready to cry but Alfred came to your rescue and held you tightly, comforting you and telling you some sort of joke no one else could hear that made you burst into laughter. He had then grabbed some napkins and started wiping your face off, and while you had simply seen it as a joke, or my brother being himself, I knew otherwise when he licked some of the cake off of your face. I knew my little brother well, and I knew to him it held more.
He was always the one that was there for you, like the time you had upset Ivan when he was in a bad mood, and was chasing you with that pipe he carried around with him.
But America had been there, and had stood up to Russia, even knowing what could happen to him Alfred still had been willing to take that risk to save her. He got lucky and Belarus had come along and scared Russia into running away, if she had not though, America would have fought Russia, and given his life if it would have spared yours. He had said it was because it was what a hero would do, and you had laughed and shook your head.
America was naive and foolish most of the time, but he was not oblivious to love, as dense as he was, and as everyone thought he was, he understood it, maybe even better than many of the rest of us, he simply did not know how to show it, nor did he care to learn. At least not until he had developed feelings for _____.
I knew the truth, but I did not want to admit it, or accept the fact that America loved you, and by the way things were looking, she was starting to love him too, if she did not already.
England sighed and soon left the room, going unnoticed.
Now he knew how Canada felt whenever everyone did not notice him.
Your sides were starting to ache from all of the laughing and purring you had been doing. You pawed at America's hands as he tickled your belly, grinning like an idiot as he tickled you.
This was the way you had always been around each other though, always pulling pranks on the other, or teaming up to prank the other nations, or teasing and playing with the other. It was a very immature and fun friendship, for both of you, and you would not change it for the world.
